About Us

We opened Dogwood Shop in the fall 2018 with the goal of bringing the products that we love to Cherokee, NC. Our store is family owned by us sisters, Samantha and Anna. We have wanted to open a shop in our hometown for years, and are so excited to see our dream come to fruition. 

As enrolled members of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, we wanted to create a shop that represented our values as native peoples as well as incorporate contemporary household and clothing items. The building that houses our shop was once the location of one of the first craft stores in Cherokee, owned and operated by our aunt Reva Queen. The store had sat empty for over 30 years before we decided to reopen it as the Dogwood Shop. It means so much to us to continue the family tradition of opening an Indigenous women-run business in our hometown and share our dream with all of you.
